Time for You
Donal has been practicing meditation for more than twenty years. He has a BA in Psychology and a BSc in Business Information Technology. He qualified as a teacher in the Iyengar tradition of yoga in 2002 and after completing his degree in psychology realised it wasn't going to provide the answers he was looking for. Letting it go he went and spent five and a half years living with Buddhists deepening his understanding of mindfulness and meditation. He has taught yoga and mindfulness at the Dublin Buddhist Centre, Samadhi Yoga Centre, and to members of the Tipperary senior hurling team. He has also worked as a volunteer with groups of individuals in drug rehab, cancer support centres and centers for adults with special needs. In 2002 he opened NUA, a gift shop stocking Fair Trade and ethically sourced goods. From summer 2005 until summer 2006, he travelled with poker professional Andrew Black, assisting Andrew with his tournaments preparation on the World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker. A lay teacher at Sunyata Meditation Center, in June of 2009 Donal was asked to become a member of the board of directors and has been on it since. Donal continues his study of Dharma and mindfulness with the monastics of Amaravati Buddhist Monastery UK, and is also hugely influenced by Aloka David Smith, teacher of the Birmingham based DharmaMind group. Amongst other things he currently teaches yoga in North Tipperary: www.northtippyoga.com You can contact Donal on 087-9656398 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org and find out more at his blog www.donalquirke.com
